At Last in America's Got Talent Finals

At Last, an incredible Asian American R&B a cappella group has made it's way to the America's Got Talent Finals. The more I see them perform, the more I think that they are incredibly got performers and wonderful representation of the diveristy of Asian American talent. You can see their full segment from YouTube here. If you vote in things like this (I know I don't, just on general principle), please consider voting for these guys. Here it the At Last MySpace and their main website.

I thought about you when I saw them, and babe, they're terrible. I mean, they have potential, but they're not there yet. They wouldn't have even made the Chordials if it were ithaca, and they were basically a farm team.

While I WAS happy to seen an Asian R&B group get some prominence (I'm a sucker for the group Tension), I was really disappointed in their Al Green song selection. The Rev Al is like a male Mariah or Whitney: you don't just get up at karaoke and sing their songs. You earn the right to sing their songs. And these guys need to practice in a few more arches/street corners before they've earned that right.

lol at william. The Al Green song they did was well, lacking.I don't know what it was lacking exactly. Some sort of soul maybe? The performance seemed so-so.Maybe it's because I'm not use to hearing that particular song in that style.Plus there are so many big time r&b "artist" that sound so mass produced these days.

You just called a bunch of Asian brothers "Sexual Chocolate"!?!

That's diversity for you.

I'm no expert, but I didn't think they were that bad. They certainly didn't William Hung themselves, so hey, best of luck to them.

Just as long as they don't appear on 106 & Park in a few weeks talking about how they have a thing for the 'sistas' a la Justin Timberlake, I'll be alright.

They could be caramel, mocha-flavoured chocolate. Why you hatin' on the caramel mocha-flavour, James?

Because like ever Wesley Snipes movie ever taught me,

Always Bet on Black.

That's double-dark, original man Black. Accept no substitutes.

It's Sexual Chocolate! Not Sexual Mocha!

James, you are trapped in the white chocolate/dark chocolate paradigm.

Open your mind to other chocolates. Accept chocolate diversity.

See Jenn, I'm not going to crack jokes about how those other chocolates didn't speak my sweet-tooth language. Not at all.

Look, if you want the real deal Holyfield Chocolate, there's only one source in the universe for that, and it ain't Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Those guys are alright. They just need some SOULPOWER and they might be able to make it.

Then maybe they can be "the sexual chocolate of our time." Hahahaha I like that line.

These guys are ok. The Youtube isn't the best thing for telling how they really sound, but their moves were a little OTT. I guess that's the R&B boyband way. I haven't really watched the show, so I can't tell who they're up against, and what their chances of winning are.

Did anyone else find the clapping along of the crowd incredibly annoying and distracting? WTF?! I would never clap along at an R&B performance.
